The death has occurred of Pat Murtagh, Coolbawn Upper, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, on October 13, 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the excellent care of all the staff in Surgical 1, St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by his wife Ethel, mother Annie and father Pat, sister Esther, brothers Tom and John. Much loved father of Pat and Marie. Sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Kathleen, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren Diarmuid, Ciara, Catriona, and Stephen, brother Willie, sisters Jane, Breda, Ann, Mary, Kathleen and Alice, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer [R95 AK38] on Wednesday, October 15, from 4pm, concluding with Vigil prayers and rosary at 7pm. Funeral prayers at 10am on Thursday, followed by removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Moneenroe [R95 F6XK] (via his residence), for Requiem Mass at 11am. Pat will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining cemetery. The death has occurred of Edward (Ned) Buggy (Dicksboro Club, former secretary of the Northern Board and PRO of the Kilkenny GAA County Board), Friary Street, Kilkenny City, suddenly but peacefully on October 12, 2025 surrounded by his caring family in the excellent care of all the staff in St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkennny City, predeceased by his parents Dick and Alice and his brother Jim. Deeply regretted by his sister Teresa, his partner Eva, cousins, extended family, good neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Ned will repose in Shasby’s Funeral Home, Kilkenny City on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 3pm to 7pm followed immediately by removal to St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny City for reception prayers at 7.30pm (rosary and vigil prayers in Funeral Home at 6.30pm). Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday (17th) in St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10.30am followed by burial in Foulkstown Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed at www.stmaryscathedral.ie Family flowers only please, donations if desired to The Capuchin Friary, Kilkenny, donation box in funeral home and church. Additional car parking spaces available at UPMC Nowlan Park during the hours of Ned’s Reposal. The funeral cortége will walk from St. Mary’s Cathedral en route to Foulkstown Cemetery via Parnell Street, New Street to the Waterford Road Roundabout.
The death has occurred of Mary Cusack (née Doran), Parkside, Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary / Kilkenny, an formerly of Windgap, Co Kilkenny and Ballyclough, Rathgormack, Co Waterford. Mary died suddenly at home on October 10 , 2025. Pre-deceased by her parents John, Kit, brothers Paul and Benny and niece Laura. Mary will be reposing at Walsh’s funeral home new street Carrick-on-Suir on Tuesday, October 14, from 5pm to 6.30pm, Mary will be arriving at St Molleran’s Church Carrick Beg on Wednesday the, October 15, for requiem mass on arrival at 11am followed by Cremation at the Island Crematorium Cork at 3pm. The death has occurred of Ita Lucy Scott (née Donnelly), Park View, Freshford Road, Kilkenny and late of Corbally, Co. Limerick, on October 10, 2025 (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family at her home. Beloved wife of the late Bill and much loved mother of Liam, Maeve, Kieran and Brian. The death has occurred of Debbie Queally (née Hughes) 17 Togher Crescent, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny and formerly Freshford, Co. Kilkenny October 10, 2025, peacefully at home. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her husband Eamonn, her adored children Tara, Aoife and Liam, her parents Tony and Mary, her parents-in-law Liam and Joan, brothers and sisters Martin, Tanya, Regina, Tony, Barry and Ryan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

The death has occurred of Carmel Hayden (née Reinhardt), 26 Assumption Place, Kilkenny. Carmel, in her 92nd year, passed away on October 10, 2025, peacefully at home. Predeceased by her husband Michael, son Micheal, granddaughter Linda, grandsons Trevor, Ivan and Graham, sisters Nancy and Kay and brother Billy. Carmel will be dearly missed by her loving sons and daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Dermot Dorgan, Post Master, Attanagh post office, Attanagh, Co. Laois. Dermot aged 92 , died peacefully, on Saturday 11th October, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his brothers Liam, Micheál and his sister Sheila(Fitzpatrick). Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, son John, daughter Julie, brother Noel(London), nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Patrick Mullally, Green Street, Callan, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Lismolin, Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary. Peacefully, at Altamount House, Dublin Road, Kilkenny on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Kitty and his brothers Gerard and PJ and his recently deceased brother Tomás, sisters-in-law Kitty Mullally (née Cleary) and Philomena Mullally (née McGovern). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sorrowing family, his brothers Bobby, Michael and John Joe, sister-in-law Anne, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
