Jimmy Wall

The death has occurred of Jimmy Wall, Westcourt Demense, Callan, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Castletobin, Callan, Co. Kilkenny. Unexpectedly, but peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Pre-deceased by his parents James and Bridget. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, brothers Paddy and Johnny, sisters Kit (Gleeson) and Annie (Roche), sister-in-law Kathleen, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, his partner Mary, his good friend Tommy Holden, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

In keeping with Jimmy’s wishes, a Private Family Funeral will take place in the coming days.

Barbara Aspin (née Beardsley)

The death has occurred of Barbara Aspin (née Beardsley), on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Robert (Bob) Aspin, loving mother of Jonathan and Sarah (Chawner). Barbara will be forever missed by her family, grandsons Daniel and Adam, son-in-law Peter, brothers Michael and Nigel, sister Patricia, nieces, nephews and her extended family. Barbara counted herself truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and neighbours who will also miss her dearly.

Barbara's Funeral Service will be held in St. Peter's Church, Ennisnag on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Dr. Ruben Dario Rodriguez Quintero

The death has occurred of Dr. Ruben Dario Rodriguez Quintero, 35 Chapelfield, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny and formerly Houston, Texas USA, December 14, 2025, who passed away suddenly but peacefully in the arms of his loving wife Doris. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken wife Doris, adored sons Leonardo and Leandro, brothers, extended family, work colleagues at Trifol Resources LTD Littleton, neighbours, friends and a special mention to his dog Gaia.

Reposing in the Church of the Assumption, Urlingford on Sunday December 21, 2025, from 2.30pm with funeral prayers at 3.30pm. Ruben's funeral will take place in Houston, Texas at a later date. Margaret Flannery (née McCullagh)

The death has occurred of Margaret Flannery (née McCullagh), Cushlough, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo, formerly of Johnswell, Co Kilkenny, December 15, 2025. Passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family. Predeceased by her husband John, son Oisín, daughter Tara, grandson Oisín, and her brothers  and sisters. Margaret will be very sadly and deeply missed by her heartbroken family, daughter Sharon, son Sean, son-in-law Brendan, sister Bernie Cunningham (Kilkenny). Much adored and cherished granny to her grandchildren Shauna, Cian, Fiona and Emma. Also missed by her devoted niece Maggie, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

A private family service will take place at Shannon Crematorium on Saturday, December 20. The family would like to express their gratitude for all the help and support they have received at this difficult time. House private.

Billy Davis

The unexpected death has occurred of Billy Davis, 7 Marian Place, Bennettsbridge Co Kilkenny and formerly of Logan Street, Thomastown, December 15, 2025. Predeceased by his parents Sean and Margaret, daughter Leanne and brother Jim. Sadly missed by his sons Jim and Shaun, daughters Sharon, Michelle and Nicola, their partners and their mother Anne, grandchildren Sean, Leanne, Hannah, Grace, Anne, Holly, Cian and Robbie, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Arriving for 11am Requiem Mass on Saturday, December 20, (via Mill Street) to the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown followed by burial in St Mary's New cemetery, Thomastown Co Kilkenny.  Funeral mass can be viewed online at https://thomastownparish.ie/webcam/ Family flowers only please.

 

Rosemarie Shortt (née Murphy)

The death has occurred of Rosemarie Shortt (née Murphy), Newtown, Kells, Co. Kilkenny. Rosemarie passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved sons baby Patrick and Anthony Jnr and her father Philip. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Anthony, daughters Ciara and Kate, son-in law-Mark, Kate’s partner Paddy, grandchildren Lily Rose, Ellie Ann, Hollie Bea and Mia Mae, her heartbroken mother Phyllis, her brothers Brendan, Frankie, Philip and Mark, her sisters Sharon (Holligan) and Andrea (Lawlor), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at her mother’s residence at Roseville, Danesfort (R95K6Y3) on Friday, December 19, from 4pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St Michael’s Church, Danesfort arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Internment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private please on Saturday morning.
