The death has occurred of Teresa Phelan, Urard, Gortnahoe, Thurles. Co. Tipperary and formerly Gurteenamoe, Rossmore, Co. Tipperary, on January 24, 2026, peacefully in the loving care of nurses and staff at Fennor Care Facility, Urlingford. Predeceased by her husband Thomas her parents and sisters Jo and Catherine. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family Catriona, Patrick and Seàn, daughters-in-law Hetty and Stacey, Catriona's partner Jordan, grandchildren Erin, Emma, Thomas and Patrick, great grandchildren Kasey, Dylan and Tommy, sisters Breda and Maura, brothers Tommy and Philly, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at Doyle's Funeral Home Urlingford (Eircode E41 XO38) on Wednesday, January 28, from 5.30pm until 7.30pm followed by removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Gortnahoe arriving at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11.30am followed by interment in Fennor Cemetery. The Phelan family would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely nurses, management and staff at Fennor Care Facility, Urlingford, her homecare team, carers and neighbours for the excellent care and attention shown to Teresa. They will be forever grateful.
The death has occurred of Seán Grier, Knockmannon, Lisdowney, Kilkenny, R95 EY27 / Longford. Seán paased away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Pre-deceased by his wife Patricia, his loving parents Mary Ellen and Steve, brother Leo, and sisters Margaret and Bridget. Sadly regretted by his loving nieces and nephews, Ann, Helen, Seán, Billy, Stephen and Davy. Dearly missed by his grand-nieces and grand-nephew, Sarah, Laura, Anna and Oisín, and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at his residence on Tuesday, January 27, from 3pm with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Funeral arriving to St. Brigid's Church, Lisdowney, R95 VX79, for Funeral Mass on Wednesday 28th at 11am. Burial afterwards in Aherney Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke's Hospital Kilkenny and Sacred Heart Hospital Carlow for their wonderful care of Seán.
The death has occurred of Esther Corcoran (née Dowling), Laurel Court, Loughboy, Kilkenny, and formerly of Finnan, Ballyragget. Esther passed away on January 25, 2026, peacefully, at St. Luke's Hospital, in the presence of her family. Beloved wife of John and much loved mother of John, Marie, Michael and Robbie. Esther will be dearly missed by her loving family, brothers Martin and Michael, sisters Helen, Chrissie and Kathleen (UK), John's partner Catherine, Marie's partner Brendan and Robbie's partner Aoife, sister-in-law Gillian, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends Predeceased by her parents James and Statia Dowling, brother John and sister Mary. Esther's family would like to thank in a special way Dr. Bolger and the exceptional staff of the Suir Ward at St. Luke's Hospital for the care and kindness shown to both Esther and themselves during her time with them.
