Agnes Foxe (née Dalton)

The death has occurred of Agnes Foxe (née Dalton), Mylerstown, Robertstown, Co. Kildare and late of Threecastles, Co. Kilkenny, March 25, 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Mike. Sadly missed by her loving sons Michael and Gerard, daughters Breeda and Deirdre, daughter-in-law Aishling, sons-in-law Paul and Kevin, grandchildren Hannah, Aoife, Seán, Frank, Emily, Hugh, Niamh and Gráinne, brother Kevin, sisters-in-law Theresa and Marion, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence on Friday, March 27, from 5pm to 8pm with evening prayers at 7pm. Removal from her residence on Saturday, March 28, at approx. 10:30am to arrive at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Allen for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Those who are unable to attend the funeral, please leave a personal message for the family in the condolences section below. House private outside of reposing times and on Saturday morning, please.

Maureen Scannell (née Gannon)

The death has occurred of Maureen Scannell (née Gannon), Ballyroe, Tralee and formerly Oakpark, Tralee and Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny, died peacefully on March 20, 2026, following a short illness, in the exceptional care of the staff of the Cardiac unit at the Beacon Hospital, Dublin surrounded by her loving nieces. Beloved wife of the late Michael Scannell, predeceased by her parents Richard and Mary (née Scott), brothers Jim (died December 31, 2025), Michael, Richard and William, sisters Eleanor and Vera. Sadly missed by her loving family, sister-in-law Bernie, brother-in-law Johnny, her many nieces, nephews, extended family in Ireland, Australia and America, her friend Marian, her many neighbours and acquaintances.

Funeral arriving to St. John’s Church, Tralee on Thursday at 9.30am. where the Requiem Mass for Maureen will be celebrated at 10am. (streamed on www.stjohns.ie). Interment afterwards in Old Rath Cemetery, Tralee.

 

Marie Whelan

The death has occurred of Marie Whelan (née Butler), Barrowville House, St. Mullins, Co. Carlow and formerly of Dunmore Road, Co. Kilkenny. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy. Marie passed away peacefully at University Hospital Waterford, surrounded by her loving family. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Deborah, Siobhan, Fiona and Yvonne, sons Declan and James, brothers Dessy and Dermot, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.

Removal on Thursday, March 26, to The Church of St. Moling, Glynn, (eircode: R95 HY49) arriving for her funeral mass at 11am followed by burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Graignamanagh. House private please. Family flowers only please donations if desired to any charity of your choice. The Whelan family would like to extend our gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of University Hospital Waterford, for all the care and kindness given to their mother throughout her illness.

Michael (Mikey) Butler

The death has occurred of Michael (Mikey) Butler, Kilmogar, Johnswell, Co. Kilkenny. Mikey passed away on March 23, 2026, peacefully, in the exemplary care of the staff at Castlecomer District Hospital, in the presence of family and his lifelong cherished friend Tom. Predeceased by his brother Seamus and parents Danny and Maggie. Mikey will be sadly missed by his brother Martin, sister Bridget, sister-in-law Anne, niece and nephews, extended family, kind neighbours and his many good and loyal friends.

Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am in St. Colman's Church, Clara. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed here REQUIEM MASS Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Friends of Castlecomer District Hospital. Donation box in Funeral Home and Church porch.
