Gerry Meaney

The death has occurred of Gerry Meany, SOS 171a The Sycamores, Freshford Road, Kilkenny and formerly of Rathcash, Clifden, Co. Kilkenny. Gerry passed away on March 28, 2026, peacefully, in the exceptional care of the staff of the Suir Ward at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Predeceased by his parents James and Bridget. Gerry will be dearly missed by his loving family, brothers John and Willie, sisters Mary, Kathleen, Josie, Lily, Teresa and Brigid, sisters-in-law Anne and Mary, brothers-in-law Mikey, Michael, Micéal, Tony, Dominic and Alan, his nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, his beloved SOS family and his many friends. Gerry's family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to SOS Kilkenny for the love and care shown to their brother during his years spent with them.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Monday, March 30, from 4pm to 7pm pausing for Prayers at 5.45pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am in St. Colman's Church, Clara. (R95 K290). Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed here GERRY'S REQUIEM MASS Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to SOS Kilkenny. Donation box in funeral home and church.

Collette Hayden

The death has occurred of Collette Hayden, Timberoe, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, on  March 28, surrounded by her loving family and in the tender loving care of the doctors and staff of the University Hospital Waterford. Predeceased by her mother Margret and baby sister Margret. Sadly missed by her loving family; partner Ray, sons Conor, Evan and daughter Molly, brothers Alan, Francis and Roy. sister-in-law Helen, Aunts Ca, Maureen and Peg, nephews Aaron and Shane, all extended family and cousins.

Reposing at her Home on Monday, March 30, (R95 XKC8) from 3pm with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Castlecomer on Tuesday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am. Collette will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining cemetery. Johnny Garvey

The death has occurred of Johnny Garvey, Rathinure, Glenmore, Co. Kilkenny, March 28, 2026. Peacefully in the care of his loving family, Johnny will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Breda, his cherished children Nicholas, Louise (Dollard), Howard and Leonard, his adored 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, fondly remembered by his daughters-in-law Caroline, Kerry-Ann and Sinead, his son-in-law Seamus (Dollard), sisters Mary, Kathleen and Bernadette, brothers Paddy, Willie and Freddie, sadly missed by extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Johnny is predeceased by sister Margaret, brothers Paul & Nicholas.

Reposing in Doyle's Funeral Home The Rectory, Rosbercon, New Ross from 4pm on Monday, March 30, concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral to arrive at St James' Church Glenmore for 12noon Requiem Mass on Tuesday, March 31, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed on link: https://www.glenmoreparish.ie/

Hazel Cunningham

The death has occurred of Hazel Cunningham (née Burke), Ballymack, Cuffesgrange, Co. Kilkenny. Peacefully, in her 102nd year surrounded by her loving family, at her residence on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Pre-deceased by her husband Patrick, her sons Oliver, who died in infancy and Ger. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sorrowing family, her sons David, Dick, Larry and Liam, her daughter Sheila (Murphy), daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Nancy (U.S.A.), relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan (Eircode R95 Y443) on Monday, March 30, from 5pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Funeral arriving to The Church of the Holy Cross, Cuffesgrange (Eircode R95 ED61) for Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am. Burial will follow afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Michael Declan Ryan

The death has occurred of Michael Declan Ryan, Lower New Street, Kilkenny, and formerly of Gaol Road. Michael passed away on March 24, 2026, unexpectedly, at his home. Beloved father of Michelle and Michael. He will be dearly missed by his loving daughter and son, brothers Allan, Stephen, Frank and Seamus, sister Marie, grandchildren Jesse and Cameron, great grandchildren Jacob, Lily and Remi, nephew, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours, friends and all who knew him. Michael is predeceased by his parents Jim and Peggy and brother Paschal. Michelle and Michael would like to thank in a special way their Dad's great friends Richie, Mags and Dermot from Kyteler's Inn and also his close friend Una for the kindness, care and respect shown to Michael over the years.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Wednesday, April 1, from 5pm to 7pm with Prayers at 6pm after which refreshments will be served in Kytelers Inn, Kieran Street. A private cremation will take place on Thursday.
