Freshford lost one of its more popular senior citizens last week with the passing of Mrs Kathleen Doyle, Woodview.
Predeceased by her husband Jim more than 40 years ago, she was left to rear a young family of nine children, which she did so well. She was a very good living lady and good neighbour and a friend to all. She was a member of the ICA over the years and a member of the parish choir.
She loved to sing and loved the music and craic and performed in stage at various events and was famous for her duet with her friend, the late Sally Kelly.

She attended the Active Retirement group each Wednesday afternoon up to recently and went on all their outings and trips.
Funeral mass was in St Lachtain’s Church, which was concelebrated by her son Fr Gerald of the Mill Hill missionary order. Burial was in Muckalee Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons Fr Gerald, Jack, Michael, James and Pat; daughters Mary, Carmel, Catherine and Teresa; grandchildren; brothers; sisters; nephews; nieces and extended family.
