Bill (William) Comerford

The death has occurred of Bill (William) Comerford, Lucan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny, on March 2nd 2022. Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. Bill (William), husband of the late Betty (Elizabeth), dear father of Lorraine, Sinéad and Fiona. Sadly missed by his loving daughters, sister Carmel Harrington and her family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Cunningham's Funeral Home, Lucan on Monday, March 7th, from 6pm to 8pm.

Reposing at his home on Tuesday, March 8th, from 4pm. Please be mindful of social distancing.

Bill’s funeral service will take place at Glasnevin Crematorium on Wednesday afternoon, March 9th),at 2pm. At Bill’s request, everyone to wear bright colours.

 Eddie Hamilton

The death has occurred of Eddie Hamilton, Chapel Lane, Moneenroe, Castlecomer, Kilkenny, formerly Enfield, Meath / Leixlip, Kildare, on 5th March, 2022. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, in the exceptional care of the ICU staff in St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Pre-deceased by his mother Renie. Eddie will be deeply missed by his loving wife Clare, daughter Lauren, sons Jason, Ben and Luke, granddaughter Clodagh, father Tom, sister Catherine, brothers Tommie and Gordon, mother-in-law Marion, sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours. A special word of thanks to Dr. Avanci and his team, all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Luke's Hospital for their exceptional care for Eddie over the last six weeks.

Reposing at his father Tom's residence (The Glen, Moneenroe R95 Y5NF) from 3pm on Tuesday 8th March concluding with Rosary at 8.30pm. Funeral cortege arriving at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Moneenroe on Wednesday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) Dollard

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Dollard, Tomakeany, Conahy, Kilkenny, R95 E97V, on 4th March, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents Catherine and Peter, and brother Lar. Sadly missed by his loving wife Teresa, daughters and son Catherine, Peter and Marie, sister Eileen, sons-in-law Edward and Alan, daughter-in-law Gráinne, grandchildren Sophie, Noah, Adam, Sam, Anna, Grace, Finn and Kate, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home in Tomakeany, Conahy (R95 E97V) on Sunday, 6th March from 2pm with Rosary at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Monday at 12 noon in St. Colman's Church, Conahy followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Johanna O'Dowd (née Butler)

The death has occurred of Johanna O'Dowd (née Butler), Massford, Moneenroe, Castlecomer, Kilkenny formerly of Castlewhite, Gorey, Co. Wexford, on 5th March, 2022, at Saint Vincent's Hospital, Dublin. Pre-deceased by her father Matt, mother Ciss, mother-in-law Lena, and father-in-law Willie. Johanna will be sadly missed by her loving husband Richard, daughter Helena, sons Billy, Mark, Garry and Joseph, daughters-in-law Karen and Aggie, son-in-law David and Garry's partner Maura, grandchildren Saoirse, Erin, Brónagh, Garry, Liam, Rebecca, Allie, Michael, Ciara, Kayla, Conor and Sinead, her brothers Liam, Matt and Seamus, sisters Statia, Mary, Lucia, Betty and Alice, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer, on Monday (7th March) from 4pm, concluding with the Rosary at 8.30pm. Funeral cortege arriving (via Massford) to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Moneenroe for Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Paul Shefflin

The death has occurred of Paul Shefflin, Knockwilliam, Ballyhale, Kilkenny. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Aoife (née McCarthy), his cherished children Béibhinn, Odhran, Keelan and Ronan. His beloved parents Henry and Mai. His sisters Aileen, Helena (Cody) and Cecilia, his brothers Tommy, John and Henry. His parents-in-law Denis and Margaret McCarthy, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, his nephews, nieces, aunt, uncles, cousins, relatives and many, many friends.

Reposing at his residence on Monday from 2pm with Vigil Prayers at 8pm. Requiem Mass will be held on Tuesday at 12pm at St. Martin of Tours Church, followed by interment in new cemetery, Ballyhale. House strictly private until 2pm Monday, please. You can view the Mass at this link on Tuesday:
