Judge Peter Alexander Smithwick K.M.

The death has occurred of Judge Peter Alexander Smithwick K.M., The Old Rectory, Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny, on 8th March 2022, devoted husband to Deirdre and dearest father to Thalia and Aoife, dear brother to Judy and loving grandfather to Diarmuid, Oisín, Isabel, Nicky and Marina, sadly missed by his extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home in Inistioge (R95 V562) on Thursday (10th March) from 2pm to 6pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11am in St. Mary's Cathedral, Kilkenny with interment afterwards in the grounds of St. Canice's Cathedral. The Requiem Mass may be viewed online at Flowers are welcome but a donation, in lieu, may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society

Kay O'Connor

The death has occurred of Kay O'Connor 6 Fairview, Graignamanagh. Kay died peacefully on Tuesday, 8th March, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Kitty and Jim O'Connor. Mourned and sadly missed by her sisters Angela, Nuala and Marie, her brother Jack, brothers in law, sister in law, her nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and her many friends.

Reposing at her home, 6 Fairview, Graignamanagh from 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday. Removal on Thursday morning at 10.45am to arrive at Duiske Abbey, Graignamanagh for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery.

Mary Kelly (née Phelan)

The death has occurred of Mary Kelly (née Phelan), Rathlogan, Johnstown, Kilkenny, peacefully surrounded by her family in her 94th. year. Predeceased by her husband Paddy and brothers Martin and Johnny. Deeply regretted by her family Biddy, Maureen, Tommy, John, Bernadette and Raymond, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, John's partner Betty, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, sister in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her daughter Bernadette's residence Foulkscourt, Johnstown (Eircode E41D868 ) on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning to St. Kieran's Church, Johnstown arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Johnstown Cemetery. House private on Thursday morning please. Roger Cummins

The death has occurred of Roger Cummins, late of Knockboy Village, Ballygunner, Waterford, and formerly Kilmanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Roger died on March 7th 2022. Predeceased by his wife Mary. Much loved father of Conor. Will be sadly missed by his brothers Tony and Eugene, sisters Síle and Annette, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Tom Hennessy’s Funeral Home, Johnstown, Waterford on Wednesday 9th March from 6pm until 7pm. Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Ballygunner at 10.30am on Thursday 10th March 2022 followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.


Thomas (Tony) Carew

The death has occurred of Thomas (Tony) Carew, Rosedale, Kilmacow, Kilkenny, formerly of Rossinan, Mullinavat, County Kilkenny. Tony passed away after a brief illness. Sadly missed by his sisters Sheila and Myra, brother-in-law Richie (Carroll), nephew Dermot and family, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing on Thursday at Donnacha Doyle & Son’s Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow from 5pm until 7pm. Arriving on Friday at St. Senan’s Church, Kilmacow (via his nephew Dermot’s residence) for requiem mass at 11am. Burial after in the adjoining cemetery.
