A picture of the 'upside down' number eight on the M9 motorway exit to Kilkenny is after garnering some noteworthy attention on Twitter.
A user (@leebonnie2707) first shared a picture of the exit sign (as pictured above) on the social media platform with the caption: "I drove past this earlier on the M9 and it’s really annoying me because that 8 is upside down".
His tweet was responded to by journalist Gavan Reilly, who told followers that the sign 'regularly bothers' him.

Another user chimed in: "Pass it all the time and I've never noticed!"
Gavan's retweet generated some further discussion with people pointing out similar instances of 'upside down' number eights on roads such as on the M3 and N6.
The tweet has now received over 25,000 views.
