Legendary local broadcaster, Mike O’Brien returned to the airwaves to present his ‘Live at Lunchtime’ show on Community Radio Kilkenny City last Friday, from 12noon - 2pm. Listeners were delighted to hear Mike’s dulcet tones on air again and many contacted the station to welcome him back .
After the show, Mike was presented with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ on behalf of the station. Mike was a founding member of Kilkenny Community Communications Co-op Society (KCCCS) Ltd, the co-op that now runs Community Radio Kilkenny City. On air, Mike has built up a huge following. Presenting the Lifetime Achievement award to Mike at CRKC studios (above) were Declan Gibbons (Station Manager); Mike O’Brien (Local Legend); Anne Dunphy (Reception, CRKC) and Mick Cummins (Tech Coordinator, CRKC).
