Minister for Finance Michael McGrath today visited Tirlán’s Collaboration Hub at Abbey Quarter in Kilkenny.
Jim Bergin, Chief Executive of Tirlán Co-operative highlighted the economic impact of farming and food production in the south east, with over 19,000 jobs supported by the Co-op’s €5 billion economic footprint.
During the meeting with the Minister, Jim Bergin highlighted the importance of retaining Ireland’s Nitrates Derogation beyond 2025 and outlined the proactive approach the Co-op is taking to improve water quality in the region.
