Ireland’s ploughing team came out on top at the Five Nations Ploughing Championship, held in Wales last week - and one of the new champions is a Kilkenny man!


No surprise to followers of the skilled, competitive ploughing scene, that Danesfort’s Brian Ireland has added another accolade to his palmares. Brian was winner of the Championship in the Reversible Class.


The competition brings together competitors from across the UK and Ireland to battle it out for the top position, demonstrating their ploughing skills alongside the National Championships.


Brian Ireland has had a glittering career in international ploughing competition so far which includes coaching the Irish team to two Supreme World Championship titles at the World Ploughing Championships in Latvia two years ago.
