Kilkenny man's veg are a blooming success at the Tullamore Show

Patrick Mason scooped awards for his vegetables and his flowers

A Kilkenny man has scooped two top prizes at the Tullamore Show.

Patrick Mason from Johnswell Road, Kilkenny, was rewarded for his green-fingered skills growing both vegetables and flowers.

Vegetables were the star of Patrick’s third place rosette, awarded for his entry into the Bridge House All Ireland Collection of Vegetables by John Donoghue, Tullamore Show Horticulture organiser and judge Breda Condron, at the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show, on August 10 last.
The local man went one better with his flowers - when he was presented with first place for this entry into Novice Dahlia Section. Pictures by Jeff Harvey.
