The local woodland owner group also delivered this year's National Woodland Show in Kilkea Castle in Castledermot, Co. Kildare last month.
The show which celebrated Irish trees, woodlands and wildlife was well attended with two days of woodland talks and demos covering topics ranging from planting trees and careers in forestry to local history, crafts and chainsaw sculpting.
On Saturday, JJ Kavanagh, Chairman of Irish Wood Producers welcomed everyone and Seamus Dunne, Senior Inspector, Forest Service, Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine opened the Woodland Show followed by talks from: Marie Doyle, UCD Forestry; Kathleen Lucey, Irish Forest Owners; Dheeraj Rathore, Teagasc Research and Tom Kent, SETU Waterford, who also led a walk around the grounds.
