Ford has introduced an upgrading and standardisation of its service offering as part of its new Ford Service initiative.
A key element of the new service programme is the free Ford Econo Check* which is unique on the market. Ford Econo Check offers an extended analysis of a driver’s driving style to generate a unique report that provides advice on how to save fuel.
The system works by gathering driving data over a number of days on a discreet data logger.
Once the data logger has been returned to the Ford Dealer, a full user-friendly Ford Econo Check report is downloaded and is then emailed to the driver. The report gives detailed information on potential annual savings for fuel, CO2 and money if the report’s conclusions and advice are followed.
By applying recommendations in the Ford Econo Check report drivers can reduce fuel expenditure by up to 25%.
Speaking about the new Service initiative, Dave Pimlott, Ford Ireland Customer Service Director, said: “Our new Service initiative is a response to the changing market. In the current climate, customers are looking for value for money but equally, when they hand over their hard-earned cash to have their car serviced or repaired, they want to know that they are getting the best service and most dependable parts available. That is the essence of our new initiative”.
In addition to Econo Check, Ford has also launched the Ford Service Promise. Under the terms of the Ford Service Promise, available from participating dealers nationwide, customers who have their Ford car serviced can look forward to lowest price servicing with a price match guarante, free roadside assistance for 12 months, free puncture repairs for 12 months, free fitting of wiper blades or exterior light bulbs and a free car wash and windscreen detergent refill.
“In addition to Ford Econo Check and our other great FREE offers, the new Service Promise establishes a real value for money proposition and standardised high level of customer service across our dealerships.
“Up to now, there was a varying level of service offers across our dealer network. The new Ford Service Promise makes our service offering more transparent and competitive with any other offers on the market”, said Pimlott.
“It is important to note that the majority of our dealers now have Master Technicians on their staff, thus customers can rest assured that the best trained technicians are looking after their car. Our technicians know the Ford range inside out and of course. They will also automatically check if a customer’s car needs to be submitted for any service actions or software upgrades – that is not a service that non-Ford technicians can provide.”
