WOULD you like to take part in an exercise programme but not sure where to begin? Would you like to get out and about more but just don’t know where to start?
A new website www.getirelandactive.ie was launched last week as a one stop shop for physical activity events in Ireland. People can search for activities by county, by age group and all activities are displayed in categories so it is simple to find what you are looking for.
Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership Co-ordinator Nicola Keeshan thinks it will prove to be a very useful tool for people to find an activity that interests them and become involved in.
Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership have uploaded some of their up and coming events such as the Meet and Train Sessions on the athletics track at the Watershed every Tuesday and Friday morning. Meet and Train groups are the ideal place to take the first steps towards better health and fitness in a fun, sociable environment!
You can walk or run at your own pace and have a programme designed for you by a qualified leader to ensure you are maximising the health benefits to be gained from exercising! Walkers to advanced runners are welcome to avail of these sessions at a very affordable rate. The track is also an ideal surface to train with your buggy! Cost is €2 per session or €20 until December.
