Power and might and a real delight!

It’s hold on to your hat time. A sharp blast on the accelerator and you will shoot to 100kph in a mere 5.9 seconds.

It’s hold on to your hat time. A sharp blast on the accelerator and you will shoot to 100kph in a mere 5.9 seconds.

Exciting driving? You bet. But with such ferocious power on tap, there is a need to be measured in your driving.

Watch out for it, the beautiful looking and wonderful driving Peugeot RCZ R. It is the most powerful road going car the French manufacturers have ever sold, and boy can it eat up the highway.

With 270bhp on tap from the all action, sweet whistling1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, this is a car to drive and appreciate. The RCZ R is currently available to order in Ireland.

In more than 120 years of manufacturing cars, the RCZ R is a Peugeot like no other. Its exceptional performance and agility are the result of countless hours of bespoke development and attention to detail, followed by validation on and off the track with Peugeot Sport’s experienced test drivers.

The car is priced from €52,990, plus delivery related charges.

This new Peugeot range-topping two-seater sports coupe represents a considerable boost in power in comparison to the RCZ 200bhp model.

It sets a new record in its category, achieving the most bhp from a 1.6 litre engine in a production car. To harness this power and deliver an unparalleled driving experience, engineers at Peugeot Sport in Paris have reworked almost every component behind the car’s iconic lines.

Inspired by the Peugeot RCZ Racing Cup track car and riding 10mm lower to the ground than the RCZ, the result is a sports coupé par excellence, a performance car with outstanding acceleration.

It will sprint from 0-100kph in just 5.9 seconds. Maximum power is at 6,000rpm and maximum torque of 330Nm is at 1,900rpm to 5,500rpm.

Even with this incredible performance, it meets the stringent Euro 6 emissions standard, emitting just 145g/km CO2.

Improved aerodynamics, special suspension settings, wider wheels rims, increased spring stiffness work together to optimise grip and guarantee remarkable road holding.

The Torsen differential makes full use of the high torque available from 1900rpm to offer excellent stability on braking and the ability to hold a tight trajectory inside bends.

Standard specification includes 19” R alloy wheels, fixed rear spoiler, dual sports exhaust, sports front seats, leather / alcantara upholstery, ultrasonic alarm + immobiliser, cruise control + speed limiter, automatic dual zone air conditioning, xenon directional headlamps with washers, front and rear parking aid, retractable satellite navigation screen, automatic headlamps + wipers, soft touch leather sports steering wheel and gear lever, matt black roof arches, Bluetooth, electronic stability programme, ABS, emergency brake force distribution, dynamic stability control, electrically operated and folding door mirrors.

Available in four colours - Moroccan Red, Nera Black, Mercury Grey and Opal White.
