The 108 is a well endowed looker

It is all about quality, price and package with Peugeot these times as they sing heartily about having the youngest and most chic fleet on the block.

It is all about quality, price and package with Peugeot these times as they sing heartily about having the youngest and most chic fleet on the block.

The all-new Peugeot 108 is typical; a small but perfectly formed four-seater car which takes driving versatility to a new level.

With a raft of enhancements over its predecessor, the popular Peugeot 107, the newcomer is a compact runabout that’s exceptionally user-friendly.

With affordable quality a key consideration, the new 108 is priced from €13,290 (dealer pack extra) for a 1.0 litre petrol 5-door Active, or from €129 per month through Peugeot Passport PCP finance.

This new baby comes to market with an extended warranty for peace of mind motoring for five years. The range is on sale now.

Available in a 5-door body style, with a choice of Active or Allure trims and up to 11 different personalisation themes, the new 108 is powered by a feisty 1.0 litre 68bhp or 1.2 litre 82bhp PureTech petrol engine, matched to manual or ecomatique gearboxes.

A TOP cabrio model with an electric fabric roof is also on offer. A level one Access model and 3-door body style will be marketed here at a future date.

Featuring Peugeot’s stylish front face and lion-claw rear signature lights, the new 108 has generous interior space for up to four occupants.

Cleverly designed, it now boasts 196 litres of boot capacity, an increase from the 139 litres on the Peugeot 107, and large enough for the weekly shop. The boot sill is 20mm lower for easier loading and an innovative parcel shelf pivots into position as the boot lid is pulled down, hiding goods below.

A spare wheel is offered as standard.

Colin Sheridan, Sales and Marketing Director at Gowan Distributors Limited, Peugeot Importers in Ireland, said: “The good looking Peugeot 108 is an exceptionally practical vehicle pitched at an affordable price, designed to meet the needs of today’s small car buyer who expect a quality product with premium features.”

Standard equipment across the range includes six airbags, Hill Assist, a tyre pressure warning system, ESP, front electric windows, remote central locking, LED daytime running lights and a spare wheel.

The Active model also includes a 7” colour touch screen with Mirrorlink technology, air conditioning, 15” wheels, electric/heated door mirrors, Bluetooth and a height adjustable driver’s seat.

Priced from €14,920 (plus delivery), Allure level three models gain a reverse parking camera, automatic headlights, front fogs, 15” alloy wheels, smart entry Keyless Go, a leather steering wheel and rev counter.
