SETU Carlow have guaranteed a place in the quarter-final of this year's Fitzgibbon Cup even though they were narrowly defeated by DCU in last night's group fixture at the DCU Sportsgrounds.
Kilkenny's new captain Eoin Cody (1-12) starred for the Carlow college while Carlow hurler Conor Kehoe had a great game for the Dubliners.
SETU Carlow advanced ahead of Limerick's Mary I thanks to a greater score difference.
