On 7 September, 2008, Kilkenny played Waterford in the All-Ireland Hurling Final.
The Cats were going for three titles in a row, a feat that evaded them in 2004, Waterford were in search of their first All-Ireland title since 1963.
The game proved to be memorable one for Brian Cody's charges.
