UPDATE: Kilkenny GAA matches under review due to severe weather

UPDATE: Kilkenny GAA matches remain on schedule for now

Despite much speculation amongst supporters up and down the county, tonight's six matches across the senior and intermediate hurling leagues WILL go ahead subject to pitch inspections by referees.

Earlier today, a status orange weather warning for wind and rain was issued for Kilkenny and six other counties.

An alert message from Met Eireann warns that late this evening and tonight, Storm Betty will bring south to southwest gales with severe gusts of up to 130 km/hr. There will be spells of heavy rain and possible flooding

Other affected areas include Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
