Kilkenny County Council have granted planning permission, subject to ten conditions, for development works at Clara GAA Club in County Kilkenny.

The club submitted plans back in December of 2022 seeking permission for a new extension to the clubhouse comprising of a gym with mezzanine level, link corridor, toilets, a covered viewing area and associated external works.

Permission was also sought for an extension to the existing hurling ball wall and tennis courts with a new astroturf surface as well as alterations to the adjacent car park area with additional lighting.

The GAA club also requested permission to construct a new seated spectator stand structure at the main pitch.

The planning application was subject to a period of further information where the local authority sought additional details and clarity on certain aspects of the proposals.
