Glenmore's Alan Murphy
Glenmore wing-forward Alan Murphy has claimed the South Kilkenny club will learn from the disappointment of being in a St Canice's Credit Union SHC Relegation Final this year, commenting, 'I wouldn't like to be coming back next year to be honest'.
The 2021 Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Hurling Champions avoided a return to the second tier with a 3-17 to 3-12 win over James Stephens.
"We have a nice group of hurlers coming, a nice group there as it is and maybe one or two injuries to come back so we know where we are, we knew ourselves we're probably in that middle bunch of senior teams the same probably as nine or ten teams so you can near the top of that bunch or near the bottom," he told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast.
"This year we were near the bottom more than we were at the top," Murphy said, adding, "it ended up like a day like today, it's great relief and great craic to win it but I wouldn't like to be coming back next year to be honest."
