GAA community in Kilkenny pay tribute to former All-Ireland winner

Paddy Grace, Fairview, Graignamanagh, Kilkenny

All involved with Graignamanagh GAA club were saddened to learn of the recent death of Paddy Grace, Fairview.

Paddy was the goalkeeper on the famous 1972 team that won the junior county final.

The ’72 victory was Graig’s first adult championship win - Paddy’s display in goal that day was instrumental in the club’s historic victory.

Paddy’s exploits did not go unnoticed by Kilkenny selectors as he captained Kilkenny to win the county’s first intermediate All-Ireland in 1973 when they beat London in a game played in Walsh Park in Waterford.
