As Kilkenny prepare for a week's break after two wins and a defeat in the Allianz Hurling League so far, two-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny, Richie Power snr has signposted the Cats' opening two games of the provincial series as make or break for the black and amber in 2025.

Kilkenny started the league series with a long-awaited win on the road against Clare before falling short at home to Galway in UPMC Nowlan Park. However, Lyng's side found that winning feeling again with an away win in Wexford on Saturday evening. - READ MATCH REPORT HERE

"To me Kilkenny versus Galway in (UPMC) Nowlan Park and Antrim versus Kilkenny, they're the first two rounds of the Leinster Championship and I honestly think they're a massive, massive games for Kilkenny," Power told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast in January. 

"If they go wrong for us we're in trouble," he added.

"Leinster is going to be very competitive."
