Kilkenny team named for Leinster Final clash with Galway on Sunday

Marty Murphy has been named on the bench for Sunday's Leinster Final with Galway.

Kilkeny manager Derek Lyng has named his team to face Galway in this Sunday's Leinster Senior Hurling Championship Final in Croke Park.

The starting selection is back along similar lines to the team that defeated Dublin a couple of weeks ago with Tommy Walsh replacing David Blanchfield the only alteration from that occasion.

Fresh from being experimented at centre back in the dead rubber final round-robin fixture with Wexford, Adrian Mullen is back in the familiar territory of centre forward as he leads an attack that includes Stephen Donnelly with the Thomastown man impressing in the last few weeks.

There are welcome returns on the bench for Shane Murphy and Luke Hogan with neither of their injuries as bad as first feared but there is still no place on the matchday squad for Eoin Cody.

After playing well in last weekend's All-Ireland Under 20 Final, there is also a place on the bench for Tullogher Rosbercon's Marty Murphy.

The Cats are aiming to win a sixth Leinster crown on the trot but they will have nothing easy against a Galway team that has won their last four games on the back of the openig day loss to Kilkenny.

The game throws-in at 4pm and will be live on RTE 2 Television.

Kilkenny team to face Galway- Eoin Murphy; Tommy Walsh, Huw Lawlor, Mikie Butler; Paddy Deegan, Richie Reid, Mikey Carey; Cian Kenny, Jordan Molloy; John Donnelly, Adrian Mullen, Billy Ryan, Stephen Donnelly, TJ Reid, Martin Keoghan.

Subs- Aidan Tallis, Padraic Moylan, David Blanchfield, Shane Murphy, Killian Doyle, Zach Bay Hammond, Fionan Mackessy, Harry Shine, Luke Hogan, Luke Connellan, Marty Murphy.
