Mullen 'happy to play wherever' as Kilkenny star linked to move to centre-back

Kilkenny forward Adrian Mullen has admitted playing at centre-back against Wexford in their final round-robin match of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship has given him a different perspective and while it may not be his long term position, is 'happy to play anywhere' he is required. - FULL INTERVIEW BELOW

"It was definitely a learning curve playing at six, I can see now why the half-back line do be eating forwards every now and again," Mullen jokingly told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast.

"It was probably an opportunity to get minutes into the legs and get a bit of game time under the belt and that's all it was.

"Look, I'm happy to play wherever I'm picked on any day," he added.

Derek Lyng's side have been hit hard with injuries to Mullen, Eoin Cody, Shane Murphy and David Blanchfield in recent weeks, with the Shamrocks man slowly working his way back to full fitness.

"You always hear it's good to have competition in the panel and I suppose that's what Derek and the lads have done throughout the league and Leinster Championship and you'd have full faith in any of the lads coming in," Mullen continued.
