'We are so close' - Kilkenny senior hurler recalls heartbreaking day in Croke Park

Kilkenny midfielder, Cian Kenny has opened up about the heartbreak of losing last year's All-Ireland Semi-Final to Clare.

Derek Lyng's side meet Tipperary in the last four of this year's competition as the Cats seek a final place after a year away.

The James Stephens clubman made his inter-county debut in 2022 and has started every game across the Allianz Hurling League and All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship this and last season.

"I actually still haven't watched the game back, I can't bring myself to do it," Kenny has previously told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast.

"The next week after the All-Ireland Semi-Final we were all biting to get back in pre-season already, really looking forward to it," he added.

"We are so close (to an All-Ireland). If we do it, it would be something very special."
