Kilkenny manager Tommy Shefflin has claimed the 'advantage rule at times is crazy' as a key refereeing decision proved costly in the Kittens' All-Ireland Senior Camogie Quarter-Final.
Despite giving an against the odds heroic display, Kilkenny narrowly fell up short as Tipperary came out on top.
While Tipp won out by six points in the end, they were given a huge helping hand by a game defining decision that ultimately turned the game in their favour after a Caoimhe Keher Murtagh goal at the start of extra-time was brought back for an earlier foul on the Rower-Inistioge star and the intervening penalty by Aoife Prendergast was saved by Laura Leehane.
The lack of an advantage by an extra few seconds from referee Ray Kelly proved hugely costly as it would have put the Cats five points to the good at that stage.
In a further blow, Tipperary got back level and right on the cusp of half-time in the extra period, Clodagh McIntyre blasted in a goal that Kilkenny were unable to recover from. - READ MORE HERE
"You'd often see it like, this advantage rule at times is crazy," Kilkenny manager, Tommy Shefflin told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast.
"You're given five or ten seconds, and then if nothing happens, they pull it back but did Caoimhe Kerr-Murtagh get that time on it? She put the ball in the net, but he blew it up so it's a huge call, because at that stage we were two points up.

"We could have went five up, but the penalty was saved. Instead of us getting the lift, they got the lift, and they pushed on and won the match," he added.
The Shamrocks man also shared his reflections on his first year in the inter-county job.
"There is a huge future there for Kilkenny, but it's going to take time as all but the big thing is the girls have to believe that they can get back up there and they will and today just proves that," he continued.
"It's tight margins when you come to this time of the championship and I think that there was a massive call today and at the end of the day, that was the difference."
