Newstalk host blasts 'disappointing' turnout for Kilkenny and Tipperary's camogie clash

Newstalk Breakfast host Shane Coleman has described Kilkenny and Tipperary fans not turning up to support their counties in greater numbers for their Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Quarter-Final as 'really disappointing'.

The two counties met on the double on Sunday, with the age old rivals also clashing in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Semi-Final at the same venue.

Over 60,000 people attended the do or die hurling encounter, with considerably fewer fans attending the first part of the double header.

"People were up in arms about the skorts issue and that's great that we supported players then but it's also important we support women's sport and get behind the teams," Coleman said.

"That means turning up. Far less people were there an hour or two hours earlier (before the hurling) when the same two counties were playing.

"You would have hoped a lot of the supporters who were going to the hurling game would have made their way into the ground," he continued.

"I found it really disappointing," Coleman added, stating, "support your team, support your county."
