Fans of Kilkenny camogie turned out to praise two of the county’s greats at the Set Theatre in 2024.
The Tullaroan club hosted a special night, presenting medals to some of their victorious teams, but also used the event to pay tribute to Grace and Miriam Walsh, two of the finest players to wear the black and amber.
On the night a guest panel which included Brian Dowling, Ann Downey, Liam Keoghan and Brendan Williams, with MC Adrian Ronan, discussed the careers of the duo, which started at Tullaroan National School and went all the way to the highest level, taking them through college to the biggest days at Croke Park, all the while leading Tullaroan from junior to the senior grade.
Both players were hugely appreciative of the help and support they received over their careers from mentors, friends and families. Listening to the stories from the panel, it was evident that they repaid this support through the pride they brought to the people of Tullaroan and Kilkenny.
On the night medals were also presented to Tullaroan’s under-16 A, minor A and under-22 Roinn B camogie champions, capping a successful year for the club.
