PICTURES: Kilkenny welcomes back the club league/championships

The first weekend of the St Canice's Credit Union Senior Hurling League and Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Hurling League has drawn to a close with 24 teams vying for wins on the opening weekend. - PICTURES BELOW

Six games took place over three days at senior level, from Shamrocks Ballyhale's opening night win over Bennettsbridge to Thomastown's thrilling victory over Tullaroan. It's been an action packed period of hurling.

Meanwhile, at intermediate level it was no less jammed packed! Tullogher Rosbercon's defeat of Mooncoin got the new season underway, while a comprehensive Danesfort win against St Lachtains drew the curtain down on the first round of matches.
