PICTURES: Quality hurling on show as Kilkenny junior finals take place

The finals of the Junior A-F competitions took place in UPMC Nowlan Park over the last two weekends

The Junior A-F finals had Kilkenny GAA supporters on the edge of their seats in UPMC Nowlan Park over the last two weekends as clubs around the county battled it out. - PICTURES BELOW BY WILLIE DEMPSEY

Tullaroan won the JJ Kavanagh Junior A Hurling Championship for a fourth time with a controlled 0-23 to 2-10 victory over Threecastles. 

The Junior B decider was a thriller as with four minutes remaining of normal time Tullogher Rosbercon were five points clear and looked like heading for victory. Nobody told Glenmore however, they battled on and recorded two pointed Jason Cody frees and a rebound goal by full-forward Robbie Fitzgerald to force extra-time and ultimately secure the 2-16 to 0-19 win.

Kilmacow emerged two-point victors over neighbours Piltown in the Iverk Produce Junior C Final 1-18 to 2-13 to a 13 year gap to the club's last junior success.

Erin’s Own completed a league and championship Junior D double with a fully merited six points victory over Mooncoin (0-23 to 2-11) in the Junior D Final.

The Young Irelands of Gowran Junior F winning team of 2024, became this years Junior E winners with this back-to-back success with a dramatic 'at the death' victory over Dunnamaggin (2-13 to 1-15).

Meanwhile, superior scoring power, particularly in the second half, gave Tullogher Rosbercon victory over Mullinavat in Saturday’s Junior F County Final (3-15 to 1-18).
