SUMMARY - Last weekend, Graigue Ballycallan and Dicksboro put in two very impressive performances to secure their under-21 A final spots.

Graigue Ballycallan infactly dismissed James Stephens (the Village) on a 2-17 to 1-13 scoreline with goals in each half from Conor Walton and Ryan Corcoran aiding the 'Sky Blues'.

After a positive Village opening five minutes which had the city club spearheading the scoreboard, James Ryall's team found their bearings and gradually grew more and more dominant as the contest developed.

Cormac Neary proved to the scorer in chief from frees and play with his contributions alongside the influential full-forwards Ryan Corcoran and Patrick Foley earning the winners a 1-11 to 0-6 lead at the interval.

The Village began the second half brightly and an Ed Lauhoff goal on the 40th minute could have been a turning point in the match with the gap narrowed to five as a result.

However, almost immediately from the next play, a bullet of a goal from Ryan Corcoran all but sealed the game with Graigue Ballycallan always appearing to have the game under control.

In the other semi-final, Dicksboro withstood a strong Young Irelands start to qualify for their under-21 county final in a row with a 2-18 to 1-10 victory.

After a relatively even start, neither team held more than a two point advantage in the opening 15 minutes with the sides level at 0-6 apiece at that juncture of the match.

The game's opening goal arrived just minutes later as Michael Keating stopped a ball from going out of over the end line and in the same move, controlled and finished the ball to the net (1-6 to 0-6).

But that green flag proved to be the last real moment for the Gowran faithful to cheer who were restricted to just three points in the second half.

The city club eventually found their groove and never relinquished the lead from the 22nd minute onwards with a brace of goals from Paddy Lacey turning the tide in the first half and sealing the game in the second.

Both teams had stand-out performers with Killian Carey (full-forward) and Jim Conlon (wing-back), while Cillian Hackett (centre-forward), Louis Ragget (midfield) and Mikey Stynes (wing-back) were all pivotal in the 'Boro's victory.
