The result means the Noresiders will face Kildare at a home venue next weekend. That decider will also give former Kilkenny senior hurler Brian Dowling a first opportunity to face his native county before the Leinster Championship later this year.

Speaking post-match, Kilkenny manager Derek Lyng was pleased with his team's showing with Liam Moore and Gearoid Dunne chipping in with a goal apiece while goalkeeper Aidan Tallis pulled off an impressive penalty save.
