Kilkenny manager Derek Lyng was encouraged by his side’s display, despite their second Allianz League defeat of the campaign, a three-point loss to Cork (3-12 to 1-15) in challenging wet and windy conditions at UPMC Nowlan Park.
A late goal from Eoin Cody sparked hopes of a dramatic comeback for the Cats, but the home side were unable to shift the momentum in their favour.
However, speaking to the media after the match, Lyng admitted they will rue some missed scoring opportunities.

"It was up and down. In the second half, obviously with the breeze, you're looking to maximise that (scoring opportunities) and we had a few chances, particularly at the start of the second half and we didn't take them.
"You need to take them against quality opposition like that." Lyng told Kilkenny People Sport.
"These lads are getting better, obviously we'll go back through the game and they'll be moments we'll be disappointed with, particularly, breaking ball we need to be a little bit better at that," he said, adding, "look, there's plenty of positives for us and a lot of lads who haven't had the experience over the last couple of years are showing well and improving."
