KILKENNY manager Brian Cody has announced his team to face Dublin in Saturday’s Leinster SHC semi-final clash at Pairc ui Mhordha, Portlaoise, throw in 5pm.
Herny Shefflin’’s remarkable record of never missing a championship match for Kilkenny during his playing career has continued and he is selected to start at wing forward.
Richie Power returns from injury and takes his place at full forward while injury concerns in recent weeks over Brian Hogan and Cillian Buckley in particular have not affected their selection on the starting 15.
Midfielder Michael Fennelly remains out for the game, as does All-Ireland partner Michael Rice.
Kilkenny’s team selection shows an experienced defence, with Richie Doyle the only newcomer from last year’s All-Ireland final at wing back.
Yet there is a new look championship midfield for Kilkenny with Buckley and Paddy Hogan, brother of corner forward Richie, starting in that crucial area.
The attack, with team captain Eoin Larkin at left half forward, also shows considerable experience with all six having played in last year’s All-Ireland final.
