Isn’t it amazing that after all the great hurling games we have watched, that we are still talking about the influences being exerted by errant referees. On Sunday the talk was not about the great game but about the decisions by the referees.
Will things ever change? Well done to Kilkenny County Board who addressed the sending off suffered by Henry Shefflin. Like all, the ’Board officers were shocked and annoyed.
What a way to treat one of Kilkenny’s favourite sporting sons. The ’Board knew how to do their business, and they proceeded to do it with aplomb, and very properly. Other methodology was useless hyperbole of a most imbecilic magnitude. They go the job done, quietly, smartly. Shefflin was cleared.
As the man said: “Don’t go down a coalmine for a bag of sawdust.”
