Brian Cody has been reappointed Kilkenny senior hurling manager for the 2015 season.
The James Stephens clubman, who has guided the county to an astonishing 10 All-Ireland victories since taking on the job in 1999, will be joined on the Selection Committee by Michael Dempsey (St Joseph’s), James McGarry (Bennettsbridge) and Derek Lyng (Emeralds).
The Selection Committee is unchanged after a season in which Kilkenny won every competition they contested - the All-Ireland championship, National League, Leinster championship and Walsh Cup.
The appointments were ratified at tonight’s monthly meeting of the County Board.
This year’s League/Championship double was the sixth during Cody’s reign. Kilkenny won what was their 35th MacCarthy Cup after a replayed All-Ireland final against Tipperary.
Such was the quality of the games that seasoned observers reckoned they were possibly the best finals of all time. Along with the 10 All-Irelands, Kilkenny also claimed 13 Leinster championships and eight National League titles during the Cody era to date.
