Disappointing voter turn-out in Carlow-Kilkenny constituency

Just over half of voters turned out to vote in Carlow-Kilkenny in this year's General election according to tally figures.

The voting turn out in the constituency is projected to be just over 52% with 64,150 of the local electorate projected to have voted.

Following the completion of tallies, John McGuinness (Fianna Fáil) leads the way on 14% of the vote (9,011 votes), Jennifer Murnane O'Connor (Fianna Fáil) is second on 11.8% (7541 votes) with Peter 'Chap' Cleere just behind on 10.4% (6,660 votes).
