Kilkenny Green Party TD Malcolm Noonan has lost his seat in Dáil Éireann.
The news comes after count eight here in Kilkenny City, with no seats filled yet.
Transfers are likely to see Fianna Fáil TD John McGuinness be the first elected candidate in Carlow-Kilkenny over the coming counts.
