BREAKING: Major Kilkenny candidate eliminated after tenth count in General Election 2024

Kilkenny candidate Michael Doyle (Fine Gael) has been eliminated after the tenth count in the Carlow-Kilkenny constituency in General Election 2024.

The South Kilkenny based candidate has finished in ninth position out of twenty candidates with 5,467 votes.

His party colleague David Fitzgerald (on 5,707 votes) will be hoping that Doyle's transfers keep him safe for another count by pushing him above Social Democrats candidate Patricia Stephenson (on 6,284 votes).
