After sixteen counts, all five seats in the Carlow-Kilkenny constituency have been filled.
Three Fianna Fáil candidates have been elected alongside one Fine Gael candidate and one Sinn Féin candidate.
Three of the elected candidates are primarily Kilkenny-based (McGuinness, Cleere and Newsome Drennan) and two are primarily Carlow-based (Murnane O'Connor and Callaghan).
John McGuinness (FF) was the first candidate elected after count eleven followed by Catherine Callaghan (FG) after count fourteen and Peter 'Chap' Cleere (FF) after count fifteen.
Both Jennifer Murnane O'Connor (FF) and Natasha Newsome Drennan (SF) were elected after count sixteen.
