Kilkenny has increased it representation in Dáil Eireann today (Friday) - with the election of former minister, The Green Party's Malcolm Noonan.
The new Senator Noonan topped the poll on the Agricultural Panel and was the first elected on that panel.
Mr Noonan served as Minister for Heritage and Electoral Reform in the last government but lost his seat in November's general election.
Kilkenny interest in the Seanad election continues with Cllr Pat FItzpatrick also involved in the Agricultural Panel count that continues this weekend.
