Picture: Carlow/Kilkenny Dog Shelter
Three neglected dogs that were found in Kilkenny have now entered the care of Carlow/Kilkenny Dog Shelter.
The three whippet crosses came into the care of the shelter yesterday. One was microchipped but not registered and the other two had no microchips.
According to the shelter, 'they are all covered in mange, red sore itchy skin, fleas, full of worms, overgrown nails and underweight'.
The shelter will now worm them, treat their mange, feed them, microchip them, vaccinate them and, as they put it, 'basically do what their owner should have done'.
The shelter will then try and find the best possible homes for the dogs but that may prove difficult.
There are dogs at the shelter that have been there for months now with not one viewing, and the shelter's kennels are now near capacity again.
If you are interested in any of the dogs please contact the shelter on 059 9726785.
