Mount Juliet Estate is delighted to announce the launch of its summer menu at the newly refurbished outdoor Terrace at The Hound restaurant. To celebrate the opening, The Hound hosted a Piaff Champagne reception followed by a delicious lunch created by Chef Andy Nolan. Whilst guests dined, they were serenaded with music by Ross Kearley.

The new renovation is cleverly designed, to suit Ireland’s ever-changing weather, meaning guests can dine alfresco in comfort, whilst enjoying the breath-taking surrounding landscape and spectacular flower wall designed by Lamber De Bie.

Guests included renowned TV Chef Edward Hayden, who joined Kilkenny Mayor Joe Malone and his wife Josephine. RTE Women’s Soccer pundit, Ireland International and Mount Juliet Ladies Golf ambassador Stephanie Roche and her husband Dean Zambra were in attendance along with Councillors David Fitzgerald and Pat Fitzpatrick. Marion Flannery from the Savour Festival Kilkenny and Siobhan Donohoe from Kilkenny People enjoyed the soirée.

Future guests can enjoy locally made Waterford Whisky, beers and stout and a carefully selected wine list, which are paired with mouth-watering dishes featuring the finest Irish produce, such as Andarl Farm pork from Mayo, Irish Hereford beef from Westmeath and trout from Goatsbridge Rainbow Trout Farm which is just 3km from the estate. Executive Head Chef Andy Nolan and his culinary team have created the new seasonal menu using the finest local and seasonal produce.

Andy Nolan, Executive Head Chef said, “I hope our guests and visitors enjoy the new menus as much as I enjoyed creating them, working alongside side local vendors is something we pride ourselves on. I want our visitors to enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings.”

The Terrace at The Hound is surrounded by retractable windows, roof and is fully heated to ensure guests can relax and enjoy the delicious menus and wonderful views comfortably. The new refurbishment and menus make The Terrace at The Hound a special venue to gather with loved ones whether formal or social. Just next door is the Saddle Bar where guests can enjoy the estate’s own Moongate Gin or a pint with the option of live music at weekends.
