Around 50 members of the Hot Aire! Concert Band will be travelling to Kilkenny from Bradford in Yorkshire on Tour on August 27.

The band is looking forward to welcoming enthusiastic audiences at three concerts, which will be great fun and entertaining for all the family.

Their repertoire includes music from theatre, films and popular music.

On Monday, August 28 they will perform a one hour concert in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle, starting at 2pm and on August 31 at 7.30pm with a joint evening concert with St Patrick’s and Reed Band at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kilkenny.

Hot Aire! love to go on musical tours to gain cultural experiences.

Previous tours have included Valkenburg, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Orkney and The Isle of Wight.

Hot Aire! is renowned for its unique sound created by an unusual combination of woodwind, brass and percussion – standard concert band format – enhanced by the addition of keyboards and electric guitars. Its wide repertoire features music from the shows, recent pops, and special arrangements for the band.

Hot Aire! is led by the wonderful Stephen Bradnum: an enthusiastic conductor, and published composer with experience in playing, leading and teaching music at all levels.

Hot Aire! is a symphonic concert band and is the third generation of a band that began life in 1956 as a brass band and became a concert band under the name Hot Aire! in 1989.
