Kilkenny GAA have announce that Avonmore will continue to sponsor all Kilkenny inter-county GAA teams in 2024.

The famous milk brand, founded in Ballyragget, Co Kilkenny in 1966, has featured on Kilkenny jerseys since 1994, making it one of the longest running GAA partnerships in the country.

Avonmore owner Tirlán, formerly Glanbia Co-Op, is a 100% farmer owned Co-operative based in Kilkenny City and is Ireland’s largest milk and grain processor, employing 2,300 staff.

Chairman of Kilkenny GAA, PJ Kenny, said that he was delighted to see the relationship transition to Tirlán and thanked all the team in Glanbia plc for their superb support of Kilkenny GAA for many years.

"We are delighted to seamlessly transition to Tirlán and retain the association with an organisation that makes a huge contribution to the south east of the country," Mr Kenny said.

Jim Bergin, Chief Executive of Tirlán commented: "As a Co-operative based in Kilkenny, we are immensely proud of our hugely successful association between the number one dairy brand with one of Ireland’s most successful GAA teams of all time.  The commitment, dedication and pursuit of excellence exhibited by the Kilkenny inter-county teams fits really well with the values that we pursue in Tirlán Co-operative."

Meanwhile, Glanbia plc, the better nutrition company which is also headquartered locally, will continue its proud association with Kilkenny Camogie.  Kilkenny Camogie confirmed its new partnership with Glanbia this week, to include the sponsorship of all senior, intermediate, minor and junior county camogie teams, commencing in 2024.  The new three-year partnership will see all Kilkenny Camogie jerseys and leisurewear carry the Glanbia brand for the 2024 season onwards.
