Breda O' Neill & Jim Harding
Kilkenny bus and coach service, Joe O’ Neill Bus Hire has donated a minibus which will be loaded with humanitarian aid and will travel to Ukraine.
Breda O’ Neill said that they saw how stressed the Ukrainian passengers on their buses are and wanted to do something to help.
The company transports Ukrainian passengers in Kilkenny a few times a week.
“We see how bad it is,” she said.
The bus was presented to Jim Harding, a Ukraine aid coordinator from Gowran.
“That’s a brilliant donation to get,” he said.
Jim said that donations of vehicles like this one are ’huge’ for the people over there.
“Joe has been very good to us, Joe has put us onto another few people who gave us buses that are already gone there,” he added.
Jim will be going over to Ukraine for the third time later on this year and the minibus will go over with them.
All of the drivers who are transporting a vehicle over to Ukraine are doing it at their own expense.
Jim said that they are always looking for vehicles and drivers willing to bear the cost to transport the vehicles to Ukraine.
