Debut single by Kilkenny singer to be released later this month

Local singer/songwriter Nicki Cummins is set to release her debut single ‘Cold River’ on October 16.

The single ‘ envelops themes of life, love and death’, said the artist.

‘Cold River’ explores ‘romantic, platonic and familiar love while also at the same time encompassing our grief for the earth that we live, love and die on’.

According to artist the single highlights the constant of what our earth has been, and seems no longer is.

“This song is about the feeling that I or we let it happen,” she added.

Nicki Cummins is formerly known for her role in the band ‘Vicker Viny’ however Nicki had her sights set on becoming a solo artist and with great determination and hardwork she has made this a reality.

Mary Greene of Greenshine, the wonderful and inspiring Irish trio is full of praise for the artist and her debut single.

‘Cold River’ was produced by Fintan Hanley, mixed by Chris O’Brien and Graham Murphy at Production suite, Dublin and mastered by Richard Dowling at Wav Mastering.

The artwork is by well known, Thomastown-based artist Pilar Cereto.
